Attitude Couture

Fashion tends to be so serious sometimes. You look at some look books and you see hints of a smile, but you don’t see people having fun. Tell me about it. I don’t know how to smile for a shot to save my life. This is not the case for all the shots that I have seen for this designer. Attitude Couture is the creation of New Orleans based designer Robin Spindt. With more than forty years of experience in the fashion business, Robin has created one of a kind gowns for that special occasion. Whether you are going to prom, a ball, graduation, or a wedding, Attitude Couture has that perfect dress for you. And she is expanding her collection to include wedding dresses. You can browse and shop all her looks here! As always, I am so proud of local talent.

My personal favorite look is the girl in the red dress with the sneakers! That’s too quiche!

Until the next post!

This past Saturday Amelie G magazine celebrated the launch of it’s winter issue in New Orleans with a release party featuring the designs of the very talented Pedram Pasha Taheri of Pedram Couture. Pedram Couture’s winter 2014 collection consisted of beautiful plunging necklines, plunging back dresses, full sequined dresses, and delicate lace overlays. The entire collection is stunning, sexy, with a touch of sophistication.

I feel very fortunate to have met Pedram while he was embarking on this journey, and to see his vision materialize in such a beautiful way. There are some great things unfolding for him in the near future and I can’t wait to witness all of his future successes.

Until the next post!

New Orleans (or as we say NOLA) has given me a lot of great things this year. So I can basically say that NOLA has been good to me. From great blogging conferences to social blogger get togethers I have had so much fun, and not to mention that I have met a lot of GREAT people too. I have given a lot of thought to what I wanted to write about this week without being mopey. And what I want to talk a little bit about is the customer experience. I am a consumer and trust me there is nothing worse than an unpleasant customer experience. Having said that I can only say great things about all the brands that I am rocking in this post. They made me feel like I mattered, they were engaged, they expressed interest in me, and they wanted me to leave with the best impression possible about their product, or what they were selling. This week as I was browsing through a trunk show and after telling the designer what I was looking for she asked me a few questions and then completely turned her back at me. She did not help me at all. However, being that it was a  store that I go to often and the girls in the store were always super helpful I returned later and bought three items from the designers trunk show. So kudos to all my New Orleans brands, designer, and retailer, that are on this post. It just pays to be nice.

Happy Friday everyone!!!! It has been a rough week for me for various reasons so a fashion show was just what the fashion doctor ordered. I was fortunate enough to be invited to the Prêt à Porter designs fashion show which took place on the roof top of the beautiful L’Auberge hotel & casino in Baton Rouge. Prêt à Porter designs is the creation of local New Orleans designer Carrie Licciardi who after receiving her degree in fashion design, and working for various fashion labels in L.A., decided to return home to New Orleans and launch her own fashion line. The collection is a cross breed of dainty southern charm meets contemporary design. From tuxedo jackets to a white linen dress, and no southern fashion show is complete without a purple and gold outfit. I really enjoyed the entire collection, and the fashion show was a great success for Carrie. I was very happy to see the lovely Leslie from Southern Flair Blog who was also in attendance. It was great to catch up and blog talk while we waited for the fashion show to begin. Overall it was such a fun night. I am glad that my friend Erica came along, this was our second fashion show that we attended this year. And my outfit is my take on the color block trend, that’s right like the song says “I did it my way”. I love everything about this outfit, not only was it super cute, it was super comfortable.

Until the next post, XO!
