It has quickly started to dawn on me that fall will be upon us very soon. The pressure is on to crank out as many summer looks as I can in a short period of time. So let’s talk about the maxi trend that inevitably surfaces every summer. I am not a long dress, or long skirts, type of girl. However, add a fun print and a bold color to a piece of fabric and I am game! The print of the summer here in Baton Rouge was visibly the chevron print. I saw so much chevron that I grew tired. By the same token I did purchase two chevron tops and this dress by tbagslosangeles. So I can’t hate the players nor the game. This dress honestly feels like buttah. I love the prints and the fabric on most tbagslosangeles dresses, I especially love their Bogota collection. There is something really fun about this brand, and I love their name.
Speaking about brands with cool names I want to talk about Culture Shock. I met the owner, Christine Alexis, at the Southern Girls Blogging Community’s first meet up in New Orleans. She launched her online jewelry store after graduating from college, and has been true to reflect her passion of experiencing different cultures through the items that she sells. The earrings that I am wearing in this post were inspired by Christine’s travel to Costa Rica where these types of crosses were prevalent everywhere in Costa Rica. I love that Christine has a passion to immerse herself and learn about different cultures. I know that personally I experienced quite a bit of culture shock when I came to LSU from Dominican Republic. I kept wondering why all the radio stations were playing country music, and then it dawned on me that I was in the dirty south. Geographically (and mentally) I just thought I was in the States. Silly but true! You can shop Culture Shock online at http://cultureshock101.com .
Until the next time beautiful people!
