Happy New Year!!! Fancy seeing you on the other side of 2023. My wish for you is to have an AMAZING YEAR!
Ah 2023, the year we were given carte blanche to wear metallics and sequins all year. As we turn the page on that year and kick off 2024 we see more sequins on the red carpet of the Golden Globes. The person of the year, Taylor Swift, donned a sequined green dress and there were sequin accents everywhere. And Queen Bey requested attendees of her concert to wear silver metallic for her epic Renaissance Tour. I personally love a good silver metallic dress.
I always opt to wear sequins at the end of the year during Christmas party season. I like to make a good statement and nothing makes quite a statement as a good metallic or sequined dress. This dress I kept in the vault for quite some time and opted to wear it at the end of 2023. It’s ruffled top and it’s short mini make it a such a cute and fun party dress. If you wear something like this to a company party and do not wish to reveal so much a good tuxedo jacket is a great add on to make it more formal.
In the South we are getting ready to kick off Mardi Gras season so sequins and metallics are about to dominate the scene once again. The south always has a reason to party and wear sequins. As far as what 2024 will bring for fashion, I think the naked or shear trend will still spillover and we will see some metallics here and there. The Golden Globes red carpet had a lot bows. So maybe the bow trend will take off or just stay there.
Until the next post, stay fashion forward loves.
XOXO,
DDC
