Oneofakind Baton Rouge Fashion Week’s “Big Night” did not disappoint. The mere fact that the event was completely sold out was a great indicator of how well the Baton Rouge community supports, welcomes, and embraces the fashion industry.
Igor Matkovic was our host for the night. Matkovic, who is also the host of his own television program called “Style Savvy,” presented the 2015 Fashion Icon Award to the beautiful and talented model, actress and radio show personality Ms. Chenese Lewis.
Collections from brands such as Little Rock’s “Miss Smitty” featuring fun pieces for young girls, and Cupani Fashion by Lacie Cupani who presented amazing crocheted pieces were among the many that made their mark on this “Big Night.” Local designers such as Peyton Simms presented her line of printed t-shirts called “Perfectly Taylored,” and LSU School of Textile and Apparel Merchandising students also debuted their collections.
It was a great and amazing night. I wore red, had fun, ate amazing food from our local star Chef John Folse, and as my favorite TV personality Wendy Williams says: I was “dipping it and doing it” in the afterparty.
This was an amazing experience that I embraced with open arms and what did I get from it? I met beautiful people and got to hang with friends that I don’t get to see that often. I am looking forward to next year and to be so lucky as to be offered the opportunity to participate in Oneofakind Baton Rouge Fashion Week again I will be there in a heart beat. Brandon Campbell did an amazing job in coordinating an event of this magnitude and he had an amazing team of young ladies that helped him put this event together. SO BIG KUDOS to them as well!!! Their work does not go unnoticed.
