Moto Jacket: Loft // T-shirt: Spencer’s // Denim: Express // Sneakers: Aldo
I took these pics a couple of weeks back and I debated when to publish them. My answer arrived when I learned that this past weekend, March 9th, marked the 21 year anniversary of Biggie’s death. I watched “Notorious,” and never did I imagine that I would leave the theater in tears. Not that I didn’t know how it would end but still. Recently I’ve seen documentaries featuring his mother, Puffy, Jay Z, and Faith and of course you get a first hand account of the man Biggie was. But the craziest take away of this story is how young he was. This man was twenty four years old and he lived as big and as colorful a life as one could ever imagine.
On a much lighter and brighter note (there is no perfect way to transition from a tribute…but here goes) we are six days away from Spring 2018. Our weather is much cooler than one would expect which makes me think that we may pause before we put away all our winter clothes, cuz it’s chilly. One of my favorite jackets is a moto jacket, especially if it’s in a pastel tone. I am also rocking a lot of denim jackets, whether they are fit or boyfriend. Love each style. And I don’t want to (but I am) over emphasize the biggest trend that you will see this spring- sneakers! Any style, and shape available. With or sans platform, studded, perforated, metallic, you name it. Whatever style you choose you will not fail. These faux fur blush sneakers are the most adorable things I’ve owned. I am also obviously obsessed with graphic tees and if they include the face of an iconic figure even better.
Until the next post.

One of my favorite symbols, or amulets, is the evil eye. If you watch TRHNJ you will notice most of the ladies wearing the evil eye. And taking it way back to the beginnings of the TRHOC franchise it was that infamous evil eye hat that Tamra wore to ward off Vicky. But I digress as usual.
Growing up in the Caribbean you are surrounded by spiritual tales and mysticism. We call giving someone the evil eye “hacer Mal de Ojo.” I wear it, like many do, for protection. I also love wearing the hamsa, which is the hand of God. The hamsa is more middle eastern, and the evil eye has origins in Ancient Greece, much like my dress that has a decorative greek step pattern (which trust me I’ve sat through research lectures on this pattern because it’s that historically important) vase and the figure of a greek god.
I promise this is the last winter look with my OTK’s, Ok? It does show the versatility of the pair and how much bang you can get for your dolla dolla bills.
Until the next time,

I can’t write Puffy and not think about Diddy, or “Brother Love.” Puffy just needs to accept he will always be Puffy, or Diddy in our eyes.
At any rate, this was my second look for the Christmas Party Season (now gone). On this particular day I had 4 parties to attend (not bragging), I only made it to 3. I found this dress at Express, and after rewatching seasons 1 through 7 of the RHNYC you learn that wearing black is downtown chic in NYC. All of that to say that if you are unsure of what to wear you can never go wrong with choosing the classic LBD for any special occasion.
As far as my shoe game goes my goal was to pair each look with these boots from Aldo. I already had some Vince Camuto OTK boots but they did not have the platform to up my look. So I jingled all the way with these OTKs.
I hope your holidays were very Merry and Bright! And have a very, very, very happy and prosperous 2018!!!

Happy Mardi Gras!
I had all the ingredients to make this post: green, purple, and gold. In this case the gold was more like a canary yellow, but still you get the point. And always the psychic trendsetter that I would like to think I am, you may want to mark my words when I tell you that all variations of yellow will be quite haute this spring. Write it down and go buy yourself that yellow (or mustard) blazer, dress, or top.
Romantic blouses such as this one which have a little, or in other cases a lot, of ruffles are on trend. You will see quite of few in floral prints in the upcoming weeks.
And last but not least, I absolutely love this vintage coin necklace from Time Warp boutique on Government St., in Baton Rouge.
Until the next post!

I know it’s been a while. For obvious, and not so obvious, reasons July happened to be a very rough month. But we rise stronger and better from all those rough bumps and curveballs that this thing called life (RIP Prince) throws at us.
Now, if you do not own this summer an off the shoulder top or dress, to you I say in the words of Kimmy Schmidt: “where the H-E- double hockey sticks have you been?!” At least she has a better excuse (mole woman held hostage in a bunker by an unimaginably unattractive Jon Ham). When I tell you after not finding this denim off the shoulder beaut in our Mall of Louisiana, I immediately placed a call and an interstate dash to Tanger Mall to find this amazing dress. It’s denim people!! Denim!!!
Gladiator style sandals like these (on sale at Head Over Heals) make a consistent appearance every summer.
I hope you are having an amazingly fun hot summer. I am extremely grateful for those of you who continue to come back to Foster the Fashion for more posts.
I heart y’all!!!
This post is dedicated to Miriam “Mimi” Woodrich. She was an amazing mother, teacher, daughter, sister, wife, and friend. I heart you Mir Mir!
Dress: Odelyne // Belt: Express // Shoes: Jessica Simpson
All these festivals in the last couple of months have really inspired the bohemian side of me to come out. From crochet tops and denim shorts to lace dresses, I am all over the place wanting all these pieces.
I first saw this dress on Ashe from Dramatis Personae (I feel like Khaleesi saying this out loud) blog, and she looked absolutely stunning. After a compliment on twitter and a few words with the lovely Kelsi from My Style Smith! the impossible happened, I had the dress in pink!
It’s a lot of material but wearing it as Ashe wore it, with a belt, and these pumps took the dress to a whole different level. I wore it for a graduation and I thought I was overdressed yet I received compliments on it. So not a bad move. The best part is that you can also wear it with sandals and still look fabulous.
From the print to the material this Odelyne dress does not disappoint.
Until the next post!

There are zero days left of cold weather and it is officially spring. So you know what that means huh? Awesome pastels, florals, denim is back in full throttle, fringes, and kimono tops are hot stuff. I’m not going to lie it was pretty warm wearing this sweater but I had my mind on styling this mid length skirt with it. I first saw this skirt in black on H&M’s website when their spring catalog came out in early January and it sold out in one day. That’s how big the demand is for this skirt. Wearing it makes you feel absolutely elegant and well dressed. Sure, did I feel like a chick from the 50’s? Yes. But that’s besides the point because this thing has pockets! I love pockets. They are especially amazing for bloggers who don’t know what to do with their hands; like me.
And can we talk about the color! This pink is everything this season. Call it what you want it’s simply beautiful.
I hope you are fashionable kicking into spring and getting ready for summer!
Top: Bats on Tees // Denim: Genetic // Shoes: House of Harlow // Earrings: Baublebar
Maddie Louviere, a senior in LSU’s apparel design program, was very busy this week debuting her Fall/Winter 2014 collection as an emerging designer in New Orleans fashion week, featuring bags from local New Orleans retailer Bags on Tees. She also redesigned this tee from Bats on Tees, that are participating in the Big Idea on March 28th on Fulton St. in New Orleans. This tee has all the elements of her collection; the leather, the bug collar, the tab sleeved, and the cropped top.
It’s been a very long time since I rocked the cropped top but the minute I saw this it was a no brainer. It is so punk rock chic that I couldn’t take it. I put some mouse ears on and the rest is history. Maddie’s collection is so beautiful I can see myself wearing everything, check it out here.
The Bats on Tees contest for the best redesign look is live! You can vote for me here ! Thank you for all your votes so far!!!
Until the next post!
