There is a brand new t-shirt line coming from the bayou, and nothing is more Louisiana than gumbo. And in case you were wondering (I know you are not..but it’s ok) my favorite spots for gumbo in Baton Rouge are: Chimes and Roux 61.

You Had Me at Gumbo is a product of love for all things creative and emblematic of our beautiful state. Arielle Brown, the visionary creative behind the brand, shared with Foster the Fashion that:

“I just love being creative and doing things that challenge me. This business and my music do both for me. I hope to continue designing shirts that are more modern takes on Louisiana gumbo themes as festival season comes, and summer, and all things life! I like to wear t-shirts that make a statement of some kind, or draw the eye to it, so that is my goal with You Had Me at Gumbo. ”

Arielle, a “Ragin Cajun” Lafayette native, was more than kind to let me pick my favorite design from her amazing collection of tees, and of course I could not help but to choose her “file myself” tee. Allow me to explain why in the next sentence. I personally challenge you to listen to the song “I’m feeling myself,” by Nicky and Queen B (aka Bey) and not find yourself doing one of the following: (a) feeling yourself, (b) constantly hitting repeat, (c) or breaking into your own karaoke session with no concern whatsoever of who’s watching you. I challenge you.

So please check out You Had Me At Gumbo online, and follow her on all her social media platforms. I need to add one more thing, these shirts are so soft and comfortable to wear it’s pretty amazing.

XOXO,

DC
