Hay girl (or boy) hay it’s Valentines Day!
In past years I have griped of no one wearing red or pinks on this day but this year I find myself being a little hypocritical. Let me explain. We all understand the over commercialization of the holidays. We get it. But it certainly gives bloggers, social media coordinators, and communications professionals something to post.
As I was shopping for others yesterday I found myself telling those helping me find something “I don’t want anything too big, or too expensive. I honestly think this day is a little silly.” I think morally we should always strive (lord knows I am NOT perfect and that my attitude is not always 100) to think of others, offer help when needed, and give without any expectations of the other person giving you something in return. That’s the way it should be. Now, do not get me wrong because the flip slide to this story is that I strongly believe in establishing boundaries and respect among friends. And you know sometimes people tend to over care, over share, and over step. Word to the wise. #stayinyourlane
BUT…. that is not what this post is about. Last year the off the shoulder trend dominated the summer and it is fascinating how strongly it has transgressed through the winter/fall. This winter, still, it is all about the shoulders. Whether it is off the shoulder or a cold shoulder, it is undeniable that this style is a dominant one right now.
I love everything about this topshop top. The style, the powder pink color, and the trumpet sleeves. The opposite of skinny jeans are these high waisted bell bottom jeans, which if worn with a high enough heel elongates your body. And I am obsessed with the tassel trend in jewelry. I find myself in the constant hunt for tassel necklaces and earrings. These hot pink ones just give me life.
Anyways, I have said too much. On the real and for realzies my wish for you is to have a wonderful day filled with love and laughter. And hey, a gift or two here and there would not be so bad, eh?
Until the next post, CIAO CIAO loves. Happy Valentines Day!
XOXO,
DDC
P.S. How beautiful was Beyoncé’s performance at the Grammy’s!!! She was a byzantine beauty and a goddess in her own right. And Blue Ivy stole my heart!!!
